New York, NY (PRWEB) May 09, 2013

Boasting some of the hottest properties and brands in kids media, Cynopsis: Kids is proud to honor three distinguished industry leaders at the second annual Cynopsis Kids !magination Awards luncheon June 4 at The Yale Club in New York City. These honorees will be joined by Kids People Award winners and dozens of finalists who are competing for the highly sought-after !magination Awards. The event will be hosted by Megan Alexander, correspondent for CBS Television Distributions Inside Edition.

The Cynopsis: Kids !magination Awards celebrate childrens media stars from the past year in categories that span television programming, digital and marketing. In addition, we will recognize leaders in childrens and family programming with our Kids People Awards.

The 2013 Cynopsis: Kids Luminaries have made a tremendous impact in childrens media. Margaret Loesch, President of The Hub Network, will receive the Legacy Award in recognition of her esteemed career in kids media and triumph in launching The Hub. Elie Dekel, President of Saban Brands and Vice President of Vortexx, will receive the Leadership Award for his outstanding achievements in developing some of the biggest brands in kids entertainment. Acclaimed childrens singer-songwriter Laurie Berkner will receive the Entertainer Award for her contributions on both the stage and screen. And Cartoon Network will be honored for its soaring campaign, Stop Bullying: Speak Up, with the Pro-Social Distinction Award.

As steward of Saban Brands since 2009, Elie Dekel oversees such kids icons as the Power Rangers and new classic Julius, based on the Paul Frank brand. A name synonymous with quality kids programming, Margaret Loesch made her mark at companies including Hanna-Barbera, Marvel and Jim Henson before being hand-picked in 2009 to launch Discovery and Hasbro’s joint venture The Hub three years ago. The network has experienced steady ratings growth since launch and recently nabbed 17 Daytime Emmy nominations. Laurie Berkner has been entertaining children and families since the mid-90s and currently appears in new Sprout series “Sing It Laurie!” Cartoon Network continues to elevate the bar on the entertainment industry’s pro-social efforts with its “Stop Bullying: Speak Up” campaign, including a compelling new documentary co-produced with CNN hosted by Anderson Cooper.

The !magination Awards will also be marking two incredible milestones. Were thrilled to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Babar the Elephant, as well as 50 years of Clifford the Big Red Dog. “These long-standing icons in childrens publishing and media have been beloved companions to generations of children all over the world, and it is our honor to salute them as part of our event, said Roberta Caploe, Editorial Director of Cynopsis Media.
